Add available locations for a fieldworker

Add the locations where services can be provided by your fieldworkers to specific countries, states, or even cities. With OctopusPro, you can easily do that, so assigning fieldworkers to bookings is made faster, easier and saves you much more time. This way you don’t have to search for a suitable fieldworker for each booking created or booked by the customer from the customer portal, as the fieldworkers will appear when selecting them automatically depending on whether the location is added to their profile or not.

You can also determine available locations for each service or all services. So the availability of the fieldworker will be based on the booking location and service booked. This will help you categorize your services upon locations, assisting you in determining which service is worth traveling to.

How to activate default locations in the fieldworker profile?

  • If you are providing your services in multiple cities, it is important to manage who are the available fieldworkers for each city. 
  • Please note that available locations are the locations enabled for your company, to know more about how to enable locations for your company click here
  • To add all the available locations that your fieldworker can work at, go to Fieldworkers from the side menu on the left, you will be redirected to the fieldworkers’ page, hover over the fieldworker’s name then click on View profile.

You will be redirected to the fieldworker’s profile, click on job settings > services provided then click on Edit default available locations.

You will be redirected to the fieldworker service availability page. Here you will find all available locations for the selected fieldworker. To edit locations click on Edit locations.

A pop-up menu will appear. First, select the state/region from the drop-down menu, then select the town/city available in the selected state. Then, click on Save

You can activate all locations for your fieldworker when you click on Activate all locations. 

How to activate specific locations for services in the fieldworker profile?

  • You can activate specific locations for each service assigned to a fieldworker, so every service he performs can have custom locations. For example, for a fieldworker who is assigned several services such as makeup and nails, you can limit his “makeup” bookings to Connecticut state only and the “nails” booking to the district of Columbia only.

  •  Go to Fieldworkers from the side menu on the left. You will be redirected to the fieldworkers’ view page. Hover over the fieldworker’s name you want to add services for, then click on View profile the menu.

You will be redirected to the fieldworker’s profile, click on job settings > services provided then click on Locations available from the service you want to edit its location.

You will be redirected to the fieldworker service availability page. Here you will find all available locations for the selected service for the fieldworker. To edit locations click on Edit locations.

A pop-up menu will appear. First, select the state/region from the drop-down menu, then select the town/city available in the selected state, then click on Save

You can activate all locations for the fieldworker’s service when you click on Activate all locations.

How to activate or deactivate locations for all fieldworkers at once from the locations settings?

You can activate or deactivate all or certain locations for all fieldworkers by doing a simple step from locations settings. 

Go to Settings > Company settings > Locations from the side menu on the left. 

You will be redirected to the services locations page. To activate all locations for all fieldworkers, first, select the state/region you want to activate cities in from the drop-down menu. Then, click on Activate all, or if you want to deactivate click on Deactivate all.

A pop-up menu will appear asking you if you want to activate locations for all fieldworkers, click on Yes, activate for all fieldworkers. Or if you are deactivating the locations confirm in the same way.

To activate specific locations for all fieldworkers, from the services locations page, select the region you want. Then, activate or deactivate the locations you want using the toggle button next to it.

A pop-up will appear confirming that you want to activate/deactivate locations for all fieldworkers. Click on Yes, activate for all fieldworkers or Yes, deactivate for all fieldworkers if you are deactivating the location.
