Display Business Owner Details in a Fieldworker Profile

In OctopusPro, you can add an Owners section to each fieldworker profile to store the details of the business owner (or primary business contact) that the fieldworker works for. This is especially useful when the person doing the work (fieldworker/technician/contractor) is not the owner of the business account.
When enabled, the Owners section can be shown on the fieldworker profile, and admins (and, where applicable, fieldworkers) can add and maintain owner details so the right contact information is always available.

Overview
The Display owners details section in fieldworker profile permission controls whether the Owners section is available and visible in fieldworker profiles. When turned on, you can store and maintain owner contact details (for example: the company principal, account owner, operations manager, or franchise owner) associated with a fieldworker.
Typical examples
- Subcontractors: Your subcontractor is the fieldworker, but you need the business owner’s details stored in their profile.
- Franchise / multi-operator: Multiple technicians operate under different owners, and the office needs quick access to the right owner contact.
- Small teams: A supervisor or business manager should be recorded as the primary owner contact for escalations.
Benefits & use cases
- Faster internal communication: Keep the correct primary business contact visible when questions or approvals are needed.
- Cleaner data management: Separate the fieldworker’s personal contact details from the business owner’s details.
- Better governance: Turn the section off if you don’t want owner data visible in profiles (privacy / minimal profile approach).
Before you start
- You must have admin access (or a role with permission to edit system settings) to enable/disable Fieldworker Permissions.
- Make sure you know where “Owners” appears inside the fieldworker profile: Fieldworker Profile > Personal details > Owners.
Enable or disable the Owners section
To display (or hide) the Owners section in fieldworker profiles, you can toggle the relevant Fieldworker Permission.
- Log in to your OctopusPro account.
- Go to Settings > General Settings > Fieldworker Permissions.
- Find the flag “Display owners details section in fieldworker profile” and switch it ON or OFF.

Once enabled, if owner information has been added to a fieldworker profile, it will be displayed in that profile. If you prefer to hide it, simply disable the same flag.

Add an owner to a fieldworker profile
After enabling the permission, you can add one (or more) owner records to a fieldworker profile.
- Open the Fieldworker profile you want to update.
- Go to Personal details, then locate Owners and click Edit.
- Select + New Owner.
- Enter the owner’s details (for example: name, phone, email, business details), then click Save.

Edit existing owner details
- Open the fieldworker profile.
- Go to Personal details > Owners.
- Click the owner name you want to update.
- Modify the required fields, then click Save.
What information can be stored
The Owners section can store business owner information such as:
- Owner name
- Phone number and email address
- Business name
- Business address
- Additional notes (for example: best contact hours, escalation notes, preferred communication method)
Troubleshooting
- I can’t see the Owners section: Confirm the permission “Display owners details section in fieldworker profile” is enabled in Fieldworker Permissions.
- The Owners section is enabled but nothing shows: Add at least one owner record to the fieldworker profile (Personal details > Owners).
- We don’t want owner data visible: Disable the same permission to hide the Owners section from profiles.

Conclusion
The Owners section is a simple way to keep the right business contact attached to each fieldworker record—especially for subcontractors, franchise structures, or multi-operator teams. Enable it when you need owner visibility, and disable it when you want a leaner profile or stricter privacy.
