Embed YouTube Videos on Your Customer Portal Homepage
OctopusPro lets you embed one or more YouTube videos on your Customer Portal homepage. Use videos to explain your process, build trust with new customers, showcase testimonials, and increase online bookings.
Why add videos to your portal?
- Increase conversions: customers understand your service faster and feel more confident booking online.
- Reduce questions and cancellations: set expectations (what’s included, what to prepare, timelines).
- Show social proof: testimonials and before/after videos build credibility.
Before you start
- Your video must be uploaded to YouTube first.
- Use a video that is Public or Unlisted (Private videos typically won’t be visible to customers).
- Best practice: keep homepage videos short (30–120 seconds) and end with a clear call to action (“Book online now”).
How to add a video (Admin)
- Go to Settings → Customer Portal → Homepage Promotions.
- Scroll down to the Videos section.
- Paste your YouTube video URL into the Video URL field.
- Click Save (and then Save changes if shown).
- Repeat to add multiple videos. After saving, each video appears below the URL field.

Edit, remove, or replace a video
- Remove: click the X icon on the video thumbnail to delete it.
- Replace (edit): delete the current video, then add the new YouTube URL and save again.

Where videos appear on the Customer Portal
Videos appear on the Customer Portal homepage, above your services list. If you add more than one video, they may also appear between sections depending on your portal layout.

Examples (what to post)
- Explainer video: what you do, who you serve, and how booking works.
- What to expect: prep instructions, duration, inclusions, and FAQs.
- Testimonials / results: real customer outcomes and before/after walkthroughs.
Troubleshooting
- Video not showing? Confirm you pasted a valid YouTube video link (not a channel link).
- Still not visible? Ensure the YouTube video is not set to Private (Public/Unlisted recommended).
- After changes: save, then refresh your portal in an incognito/private window.
