Display Fieldworker Date Joined on the Customer Portal
OctopusPro gives you fine-grained control over what customers can see on your Customer Portal—including what appears on fieldworker (technician) profiles. One optional detail you can show is the fieldworker “Date Joined”, which appears in the About section of the fieldworker profile.
This small trust signal helps customers feel more confident when choosing who will deliver the service—especially for industries where experience and continuity matter (e.g., trades, cleaning, wellness, home services, tutoring, etc.).
What customers will see
When enabled, the “Date Joined” line appears on the fieldworker’s profile page (typically within the About section).
In OctopusPro, the “Date Joined” shown to customers refers to the date the fieldworker joined your business or the date their user account was created in the system. If you want to communicate “years of experience” separately (e.g., “10+ years experience”), add it to the fieldworker bio/about section or profile description.
Before you start
- Make sure customers can access fieldworker profiles on your Customer Portal (for example, by enabling your fieldworker list / public profiles setting).
- You must be an admin user (or have permission to edit Customer Portal settings).
How to enable “Display fieldworker date joined to customers”
- Go to Settings.
- Open Customer Portal.
- Select Flags & Permissions.
- Scroll to the Fieldworker Flags section and enable Display fieldworker date joined to customers.

Once enabled, customers will see the fieldworker’s “Date Joined” displayed on the fieldworker profile page in the Customer Portal.
How to disable it (hide the Date Joined)
If you prefer not to show this detail (for privacy, contractors, or new hires), simply turn the same flag off:
- Go to Settings > Customer Portal > Flags & Permissions.
- Under Fieldworker Flags, disable Display fieldworker date joined to customers.

Best practices & examples
- Use it as a trust signal: “Joined: 2018” helps reassure customers they’re booking an established team member.
- Pair it with profile quality: add a photo, a short bio, and (optionally) ratings to increase conversions.
- Privacy control: if you work with casual contractors, consider keeping this hidden and using bios instead.
Troubleshooting
- I enabled the flag but can’t see it on the portal: confirm customers can access fieldworker profiles (e.g., public profiles / fieldworker list enabled) and refresh the portal page.
- The date doesn’t match “years of experience”: the portal shows “Date Joined” (account creation/join date). Add experience info in the profile bio if needed.
