Display Fieldworker List & Make Fieldworker Profiles Public

OctopusPro lets you control exactly what customers can see in your Customer Portal—including menu links, buttons, and profile sections. One useful option is enabling a public Fieldworkers (service providers/technicians/therapists) directory so customers can browse your team, open individual profiles, and (optionally) view fieldworkers on a map.

What this setting does
When you enable Display fieldworker list and make fieldworker profiles public, OctopusPro publishes a Fieldworkers directory inside your Customer Portal. This allows customers to:
- Open a Fieldworkers page (directory) from the portal navigation.
- View all active fieldworkers in a list/grid.
- Click any fieldworker to open their public profile (showing only the details you allow).
- View fieldworkers in List or Map view (map depends on available location data).
- See relevant fieldworkers on service pages (who provides the service) before scheduling.
Why enable a public fieldworker directory
- Build trust: customers can see the people behind your business.
- Increase booking confidence: customers can review provider profiles before booking.
- Support preference-based booking: ideal if customers like choosing the provider they want.
- Reduce inquiries: customers can self-serve information instead of calling or messaging.
Examples: A cleaning business showcasing certified technicians, a beauty/wellness business displaying therapist specialties, or a multi-location business showing providers by region.
How to enable or disable the setting
- In your OctopusPro admin dashboard, go to Settings > Customer Portal > Flags & Permissions.
- Find the option Display fieldworker list and make fieldworker profiles public.
- Toggle it ON to display the directory and public profiles, or OFF to hide them.

Once enabled, the Fieldworkers link appears in the Customer Portal navigation and customers can browse your directory and profiles.
Where customers can access the fieldworker list
Customers can access the directory from your Customer Portal homepage/menu. In the example below, customers open the actions/menu button and select Therapists (your label may vary depending on your industry).

After selecting Fieldworkers, customers are redirected to the directory page where they can view all active fieldworkers and open any public profile.

List view vs map view
On the directory page, customers can switch between:
- List view: browse fieldworkers as a list/grid and open profiles.
- Map view: view fieldworkers on a map (shown based on available location data for each fieldworker).

In map view, customers can click a pin to preview the fieldworker and then select View Profile for details.

Fieldworker list on service pages
When this setting is enabled, customers can also access fieldworkers while viewing a service—before scheduling an appointment. On the service page, customers can select Show all fieldworkers to view the fieldworkers who provide that specific service.

A popup window appears listing eligible fieldworkers. Customers can select View Profile to open any public profile.

What happens when the setting is disabled
When this setting is turned OFF:
- The Fieldworkers link will not appear in the Customer Portal navigation/header.
- The fieldworker directory page will not be visible to customers.
- Fieldworker profiles will not be accessible from the Customer Portal.
- The “Show all fieldworkers” list on service pages will be hidden.
Privacy tips & best practices
- Review what profile data is public: only publish information you’re comfortable showing to customers.
- Keep profiles consistent: add profile photos, roles/specialties, and approved public details to help customers choose confidently.
- Map view considerations: map visibility is based on available fieldworker location data—ensure you’re comfortable with how locations are represented.
- Combine with “preferred fieldworker” selection: if you want customers to choose a provider during booking, enable the related portal option.
