If the toggle is disabled, fieldworkers can still update a booking if the status is “Awaiting Update.” This status automatically appears when a job requires an update from the fieldworker. If the flag is enabled, there are no restrictions on updating the booking.

If the toggle is disabled and the fieldworker needs to make changes to a booking, they can request access from the admin. The admin will receive a notification and can choose to accept or decline the request. The requests related to booking edits will be visible in the admin portal notification list.

  2. Go to Settings > General settings > Fieldworkers Permissions 
  3. Scroll to the relevant flag “Allow fieldworkers to edit their booking details at all times” and enable it

Restricting fieldworkers from editing their booking details

If you want to restrict your fieldworkers from editing the booking details, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your OctopusPro account
  2. Go to Settings > General settings > Fieldworkers Permissions 
  3. Scroll to the relevant flag “Allow fieldworkers to edit their booking details at all times” and disable it.

Once disabled, fieldworkers will not be able to edit or make any changes to their bookings without office approval.

What happens when fieldworkers try to edit their bookings when the flag is disabled?

If the toggle is disabled and the fieldworker needs to make changes to a booking, they can request access from the admin. The admin will receive a notification and can choose to accept or decline the request.

Accessing and Editing Bookings

Once you have granted permission for fieldworkers to access and edit the booking page, they can do so when logged in from their app.

To access the booking details page, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your fieldworker app
  2. Go to Bookings > All from the sidebar menu
  3. Click on the booking you want to view the details of

On the booking details page, you will be able to view all the details of the booking including the service added, the booking date and time, status, customer, the booking address, the pricing, and more. 

Editing booking details

Once you have granted permission for fieldworkers to access and edit their booking details, they can do so when logged in from their app.

To edit any of the booking details, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Fieldworker app
  2. Go to Bookings > All from the sidebar menu
  3. Click on the booking you want to edit 

On the booking details page, you will be able to view all the details of the booking and can edit the details, including the service added, the booking date and time, the status, the customer, the booking address, and the pricing.

To edit the booking date and time, for example, click on the Schedule tab, then click on the date and time. A popup will appear, click on Change Date/Time. Then, adjust the booking timing as you wish and click on save to save your changes.

Once you have granted permission for your fieldworkers to edit their booking details, they will be able to edit the service selected, and its details like the date, time, and pricing. They will also be able to edit the customer contact info, like their email or phone number. They can edit the job address and select a new one, and they can edit the invoice details of the booking. They can also change the booking status to a different one.

Modifying booking information such as date, time, and location

To edit a bookings date, time, and location, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Fieldworker app
  2. Go to Bookings > All from the sidebar menu
  3. Click on the booking you want to edit the details of

On the booking details page, click on the Schedule tab, then click on the date and time. A popup will appear, click on Change Date/Time. Then, adjust the booking timing as you wish and click on save to save your changes. 

To edit the booking location, on the Job tab, scroll down to Job Address and click on it, you will then be able to edit the booking address and change any details, click on save to adjust the changes.
