Display Fieldworker Earnings for Bookings

This setting controls whether fieldworkers (employees, subcontractors, or contractors) can see their earnings per booking inside the Fieldworker App. When enabled, fieldworkers can view earnings totals and (when available) a detailed breakdown for each booking they are assigned to.
What this feature does
- Improves transparency: Fieldworkers can quickly confirm what they will be paid for each job.
- Reduces disputes: Clear totals and breakdowns reduce back-and-forth about payroll.
- Helps fieldworkers plan: Contractors can decide whether a job is worth accepting based on payout and effort (where your workflow allows job acceptance/decline).
- Supports incentives: Useful if you pay commissions, bonuses, tips, or add adjustments.
Important: This setting shows the fieldworker’s earnings. If you also want to show the booking billing amount charged to the customer, that is typically controlled by a separate permission/flag.

Enable/disable for all fieldworkers
Enable
- Go to Settings.
- Open General Settings → Fieldworkers Permissions.
- Find Display fieldworker earnings for bookings and switch it ON.
Disable
- Go to Settings → General Settings → Fieldworkers Permissions.
- Switch Display fieldworker earnings for bookings OFF.
When disabled, fieldworkers will no longer see earnings details for bookings in the app.
Enable/disable for an individual fieldworker
If you need to enable/disable this feature for a specific fieldworker only (for example, managers can view it but contractors cannot), you can use the fieldworker’s profile flags:
- Go to Fieldworkers from the sidebar.
- Select the fieldworker.
- Open View profile.
- Go to Job settings → Fieldworker flags.
- Toggle Display Fieldworker earnings for bookings ON/OFF.
Note: If you enable/disable the feature from the global Fieldworkers Permissions page, that global setting may override individual profile flags (depending on your configuration).
How fieldworkers view earnings in the app
Once enabled, fieldworkers can view their earnings inside the Fieldworker App in the following places:
1) My Earnings dashboard (weekly/monthly/yearly)
- Open the Fieldworker App.
- Go to My Earnings.
- Switch between Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly to review totals.
2) Earnings details for a specific period
From the earnings dashboard, fieldworkers can open a period to view totals, bookings, and related invoices/pay statements.
3) Earnings within an individual booking
- Open a booking.
- Scroll to the My Earnings section.
- View the total earnings for that booking (and payment status, if shown).
View the earnings breakdown per booking
Where supported by your payroll/payment workflow, fieldworkers can open a breakdown showing exactly what the payout includes. The breakdown can vary depending on your pay setup (for example: base rate, commission, bonuses, tips, adjustments, etc.).
- Open the booking.
- In My Earnings, tap Breakdown.
If the payment has not been processed yet: The breakdown may not be available. The app will show a message indicating the breakdown will appear after payment processing.
Troubleshooting
- Fieldworker can’t see “My Earnings”: Confirm the global permission is enabled, and (if used) the fieldworker profile flag is enabled for that user.
- Breakdown button is missing or shows no details: This may appear only after the payment has been processed in your workflow.
- Earnings show for some users but not others: Check whether you are using individual fieldworker flags and whether a global permission is overriding them.
- Totals don’t match expectations: Review your fieldworker pay setup (rates/commissions/bonuses/adjustments) and ensure the booking is configured correctly.
Best practices
- Explain your pay rules: Tell fieldworkers what impacts their payout (rates, commissions, incentives, deductions, and when payouts are processed).
- Use incentives strategically: If you assign difficult/urgent jobs, consider adding bonuses to improve acceptance and performance.
- Protect sensitive info: If you don’t want contractors seeing earnings, disable the feature globally or per fieldworker.
- Pair with clear payroll cycles: Process payouts on consistent weekly/fortnightly/monthly schedules so breakdown availability is predictable.
